“I can see clearly now the rain has gone. I can face all obstacles in my way.”

Being based in Cardiff I think I swam more than walked over the weekend. It poured down for most of the daylight hours and when it wasn’t pouring, the runoff water, made the roads tricky.

The season has turned to autumn.

The rain made this weekend the perfect time to stay indoors, cwtch up on the sofa and relax. I often use days like those to think about my goals. This down pour/ stay indoors weekend was perfectly timed as today is 12 weeks from the Christmas Break.

Yes, folks. That is 12 weeks before we finish 2021. Where has the year gone? What have we achieved? How will 2021 be remember in your mind? Was it your breakthrough year?

Anyway, those questions are the subject of another weekly digest. Back to thinking about my goals.

You might be surprised to hear I’ve been feeling a little lost, busy, not focused. Working hard but not progressing as much as I want to. If I’m honest I’ve been a little all over the place with my thinking and actions. This weekend I decided to take back control and follow my own advice.

“If your ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step you take gets you to the wrong place faster.”

You know we run a #gamechanging leadership program called UniqueNRG. Well, we have developed a system called C.A.L.M.

CLARITY: You must know yourself, know what makes you happy, know what you want to achieve and more importantly why is it so important for you to achieve it.

We use 3 or 4 well established exercises in the program to help people find clarity. My favorite is “Start with the end in mind” habit No 2 from Stephen Covey’s – The 7 habits of highly effective People. It says…

“Begin with the End in Mind means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen.” - https://www.franklincovey.com/habit-2/

This weekend I worked through the Clarity module and got my focus back! This is how I did it over the weekend.

  1. Review the main elements of your like; work, family, health, finances, charity/giving, personal growth, love life and figure out which area you want to focus on and why. (I only focus on a max of 2 areas at a time.)

  2. Write out what the desired end point for the 2 areas you are focusing on? Picture your perfect day and write down what do you want to spend most of your time doing?

  3. Write down some of the key milestones you’ll need to do to achieve and be able to do Number 2.

  4. Write down the benchmarks and check points that will get you to achieve your key milestones (Number 3)

  5. Create yourself an end point prop.

  6. ACT; Use Number 4 on a daily basis to review your goals and plan your actions each day.

With 12 weeks to go before the end of the year, it’s a perfect time to review your goals and re-establish the clarity needed to end 2021 on a high. Let me know what your goals are. There is still time to complete everything you wanted to do way back on the 1st Jan 2021. We’ll be talking more about Clarity in our Instagram Live at 12noon today Monday 4th October – just seach for https://www.instagram.com/unique_nrg/.
